This week Apple unleashed the iPhone and iPod Touch development community with the release of the iPhone SDK. At CeBIT Gomite was on the NavNGo stand showing GPS connected to the iPhone running iGO8 navigation software and Google maps
Mitac Mio A700 GPS
This is an older PDAPhone with built-in GPS I bought on 9 Oct 2006. It has a QVGA 2.7″ TFT touch-screen LCD. Based on the 520MHz Intel PXA270 CPU with SiRFstar III GPS, I found it fast and responsive. It uses the Mapking 2007 navigation software that is ok to use and comes with Malaysia and Singapore maps. This video shows a simulated drive from the Federal Territory Mosque to the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (Petronas Twin Tower). Compared to the Papago Z-820, it lacks the 3D buildings and features, the screen layout is more cluttered, the voice navigation is less talkative, and the screen is portrait-based.
